Open folder in finder, click get info for the top level folder. Click unlock at the bottom of the info pane (if its locked) Under shareing and permissions you can view all the permissions for the folder. You will see a minus and plus sign and then a gear (settings) icon, click this icon. Click “Apply to enclosed items”. This helped solve my web browser issue for sub folders.
